Reaching either 4K@144Hz or 8K@60Hz on the HDMI output requires the host to support Display Stream Compression (DSC) over the USB4 tunnel — the math of raw 40Gbps bandwidth alone cannot carry those signals uncompressed. The three USB-C ports differ profoundly in role: two are bidirectional SuperSpeed data (10Gbps) while the third is blind to data, acting purely as a PD-in sink. Data ports cap peripheral charging at BC 1.2 (7.5W).
